Back at the Fens

As great as it was to be in Cooperstown over the weekend, it’s even better to be back at the Fens, in the catbird’s seat, keeping all of you updated on the action.

Third baseman Mike Lowell is again out of the lineup, with Adam LaRoche making his third straight start at first base. It’s a matchup thing, and also Tito trying to make the rotation system work.

More later.

Ian.

Welcome back Ian!

FROM PREVIOUS THREAD:

I promise!!! I will NOT go to Fenway! I will stay home, drink and watch the game on TV like a good girl! :-)

Lineup for tonight’s game:

Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youkilis, Ortiz, Bay, Drew, LaRoche, Varitek, Lowrie. Beckett.

Good to have you back in the friendly confines Ian!!
Rumors aplenty about SanDiego and Gonzalez… Heard anything new Ian??

WHAT!! There is a rumor that the Yankees are talking with the Reds to trade for Bronson Arroyo!!!

I had him on my fantasy league. !st few outings was really good and then downhill, on the DL. Dont think thats a good thing….

There’s nothing like being at Fenway. I just posted pix and video from this past weekend. Good times!

Jen
http://faithful.mlblogs.com

Beckett on the hill against the lowly A’s. If the Sox don’t win tonight, I am out of words! Beckett should mow this team down and the bats should do just enough to get the win.

Is Matt Clement next, LOL!!! I hear that Charlie Hough is available too!

Jen – I was at Fenway this weekend – you should stop by my blog – I put pictures up today also.

Nomar is in the house!!! Okay – he is NOT allowed to hit well in Fenway this week! lol!

Arroyo is a nice back of the rotation starter for the Yankees. It sounds like the deal will happen for sure! Not a earth shattering move by the Yankees but Arroyo has a rubber arm and gives them versatility for the pitching staff. Arroyo was one of my favorites with the Red Sox. He wasn’t fazed pitching in a big market like Boston and you can tell he loved playing for the Red Sox. He’ll be with his old pal Damon.

Ummm…should Beckett have gotten that ball???

Nice start to the game!!

Hopefully the boys were taking notes on that swing…nice start! Keep it going!

They probably signed him already! They never express interest in the people that actually work for them!

Yankees are denying they have any interest in Arroyo – so does that mean they will sign him tomorrow?

PEDEY!!! WHOOO HOOO!!!

ohh….the commercial they just had on NESN – the young boy who Jim Rice took out of the stands and took to the clubhouse for medical care!!!

Hey Mike! I hope the Sox are taking notes on how Pedey hit the ball!

Okay – the security guard took the bat back! NOT right!

And the Yankees are up by 2 over the Rays. Okay – can I be a Rays fan for this series?

88% of Beckett’s pitches tonight have been strikes – I like it!

Drew…..sigh……

I was “manning” the grill (chicken), but saw throught he window when Pedey hit the HR!!! You go Bubba!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO… (just a wooo for now.)

I like the addition of LaRoche!!

TEK!!! Moving the baserunner along would have been a GOOD THING!!!!

Have a yummy dinner Ellen – don’t burn the chicken!!!

JD .. SWING THE %$%^ing BAT!

At least Lowrie is swinging the bat…

TRIPLE!!! Nice!!

Thanks Ell! War games are over, coffee is fresh and we’re hitting the ball (HEAR THAT JD!!). Swing the GD BAT!!

WHOOO HOOOO!!!

Talk about POOR base running!!!! Touch the bases!!!!

City of brotherly love..

Excellent call by the Umps on Patterson!

Apperently my atomic clock has had a meltdown…I’m about 5 minutes behind everybody else!!

I rad wrong… It is a good thing if the Yankees want Arroyo!

Hey Mike, Hope things are going better for you!!! Glad to “see” your smiling mug!!!

Wait Mike – you mean the players are suppose to SWING the bat? What a concept! Maybe you ought to send the Red Sox a memo about that!

I think John Farrel might have gotten hurt in the dugout by the ball that just flew in there.

Did y’all hear about the fight that happened at CNB park in Philly?? One group of Phillie fans beat another Phillie fan to death Saturday!! Shocking?? yes!! But remember this is the city that has a police station and a jail in its stadium!!!

Farrell is back – it looks like his knee is hurt.

PEDEY!!! He is on fire tonight!!!

I had not heard that Ellen! That is terrible!!! So much for the city of Brotherly love.

Ellen- just heard that the fight wasn’t at the park – it was at the bar connected to the park. That is just an awful thing to have happen. I will never understand how people can do that.

NESN will have the ceremony for retiring Rice’s number on TV before the game tomorrow. YAY!!!

The love in Philly alright.. love to fight!!!

Gotta love my Ratboy!!!! I know I DO!!!!!

Can you place a coach on the DL?

Ellen,
Heard about it myself. Wow, what an ugly situation. Here is the link.

http://www.philly.com/

Sox still clueless at the plate. Frustrating.

Come on JBay, connect one time for me pleae!!

Looks like I’m, back in time..that was a quick time warp. JD..if you don’t get that bat off your shoulder……

JD..a foul.. YOU HIT IT!

Nicely done, son!

Yankees winning 3-0.. they got 3 in the 2nd off of
Shields and TB

Good job cockroach!!!

LaRoche! I am SO glad you are in Boston!!!!

MYYYYYY TEK-ER!!!!

I am LOVING this game tonight! GO RED SOX!!!

This is what we’ve been waiting for!

Did he really think he could throw out Jacoby???

My boss is from Philly and from what I understand (what he told me) the bar is in the park and it spilled into the gate area, and thats where the actual beating took place.. but he may have been misinformed…

So far so good. Question why is Jed Lowrie playing short? Did I miss something?

Doesn’t matter where it was Ellen – it is just terrible.

Why wouldn’t Lowrie play short agenv?

He can’t hit and Nick Green can?

Beckett is dialed in tonight!!

He probably doesn’t like Sweet Caroline either…

Green’s numbers have not been very good either. He is slumping badly. Lowrie – when he gets his groove back – will be better.

bull pen band is back again!!!!

THE BULL PEN BAND!!! YAY!!!!

Hush up Eck!!! We like the band!!!

Eck doesnt like the bull pen band?? too freaking bad!!!

ORTIZ!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!

I think Bay has found his groove!!! Time for more fruit baskets for Theo!!!

The offensive explosion we’ve been waiting for tonight!!! nice to see the bats wake up

Drew…..I still think Kotsay was the wrong one to let go.

Mike – I think Eck is just still angry over the who Disco thing that Donny-O brought up – he hates all music now!

He’s mad cause they didn’t have the band when he played..

Okay Beckett – no more hits!

THOSE LATE CALLS AT THE PLATE NOT GOOD!!!

I agree about Kotsay.. Every a/b he showed that he was the one to keep… He gave his all!

Ellen – this was just posted on Twitter about the fight you were talking about –

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4359972

Crap – Yankees up 5-0. Can’t the Rays do something to help us all out???

No Julia, Eck just thinks that every pitcher thinks like he does.. that he is the ONLY PERSON in the universe… I cant stand him…..

Eck is another egocentric BUTTHEAD! He thinks that pitchers are far and above WEVERY other (position) player on the team.. Well, its like the chicken and the egg.. which one came 1st… you cant win a game without pitching, but you cant win one without hitting either!!!! Hey Eck why dont you stick a piece of smelly high cheese in your mouth!! lol

As long as the lead is 3 games or less by 6 August.

Make sure it’s got hair on it!

YES!! We win the series then and all will be good Mike!

We will! And the fans that paid good money to sit by the right field fence will be rewarded with many a new baseball!

LOL! I hope so Mike! And Big Papi is hitting now – so I suspect he will hit a few out.

BECKETT – can we settle in PLEASE!!!!

DREW GOT A HIT!!!!!

JD…Nice job swinging the GD BAT! See how easy that is!!

Rays scored a RUN! Maybe they caught that virus we just got over…somebody drop it in the Bronx please!!

Tek… heck… what else can I say!! I love this guy!!!

Walking Tek was a GREAT idea!! Thanks!!

GO RAYS!!!! I’m feeling comeback down in Tampa!!!

THANK YOU A’s!!! We’ll take runs anyway we can!!

Bard is in. Great night by Beckett.

Bard is throwing 99/100 mph! This kid is amazing!!!

Pedey is on fire again!

Don’t look now…Ray’s are mounting a counter-attack!

Short lived come back by the Rays – Yankees up 7-1.

GO RAYS!!!

WHOOO HOOOO!!! WE GOT THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES!!

Good game Good Bats.. GOOD BULL PEN BAND!!! UP YOURS ECK!! LOL

The Red Sox retire Rice’s number tomorrow night before the game. NESN is going to be carrying it – it will be great to see.

See you all tomorrow for the game!

GO RED SOX!!!

nO i THINK THAT A GIRL NAMED cAROLINE GAVE HIM… A BAD TIME…

Night all you Nationers.. and Julia.. if you try to get near Fenway, WE WILL KNOW>>> Arnie will go into warp speed to keep you out,, he makes that trip often!!!

That’s too funny Ell! See ya tomorrow…

I told you Ellen – I will NOT go near Fenway! But Arnie – if you do come, will you bring a cake??? :-)

The **&^% Yankees won! I thought the Rays wanted to get back to the playoffs!!!

Finally, JBay had his first rbi since when? Finally there is sign that the bats are breaking out. If the Sox hitters (Drew JBay, Youk, Ortiz) live up to the expectations, the Sox can win the whole thing as they are now. Who needs V-Mart. Who needs AGonzo? lol It’s good to have Doc Halladay aboard though.
I was surprised to see Beckett came out to pitch the 8th. We wouldn’t see Bcekett in the 8th if the Sox didn’t score in the bottom of 7th.

If Bard can continue to look good……what stops the Sox from offering up Papelbon in the off-season? That’s one move that would not bother me one bit and I’m sure teams would be interested…The Sox would probably get a quality player in return…Not sure I would do that in the middle of the season until I was sure Bard can handle the 9th in game ending situations.

Hey everyone -> question:

I’m smelling a conspiracy theory here. Lugo is on fire. He has great range (all of a SUDDEN), powerful hitting ability and is stealing bases. This reads to me like a crap load of faking he did on the Sox. What do you think?

Dave…

Dave chalk it up to Julio being in new surroundings and also to National League pitching. He played in the National league with much more success than he did in the AL. Don’t worry, he’ll come back down to earth soon, OH and he was a part of a 1-2-3 9th (ground out, POP UP (that was him) and ground out) to help St Louis lose…. Like I said his bubble will once again burst and it will be soon.

well what do the sox do?…IF and i say IF they all start to hit and IF the aging or injury prone plrs stay healthy and iIF ,IF,IF,….im still not warm and fuzzy about the offense even if they all were firin on all cylinders….unless papi was back to his 04 form….which he isnt….maybe drew will catch fire….normally it only takes one guy to get it goin and the rest follow….i still think theo will snag an outfield bat ….i woulda kept kotsay but im not the GM….maybe jonny gomes…ugh….it will prob be late this week deal involving a weak team and a mediocre bat….drew is makin too much money to eat ….tough situation theo has gotton himself into…if we lose bay to free agency, and cant sign holliday, and dont pick up a bat this yr before deadline…i wonder if his job is in trouble….prob not because of the way hes built the farm up…other than pitchers there really isnt much there for a couple yrs…..unless lightnin strikes…i know most teams have injurIES…but we are just 1 injury away from a lost season because the depth isnt there …get workin theo….proven talent for maybes is a good deal….judge

Dave – I have to agree with Ellen on this one – Lugo was never a good fit here in Boston. I wish him luck and we’ll see how he is doing in a month.

And Dice-K is blaming the Red Sox training program for his shoulder problems:

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=776

I’m sorry – but he is sounding like a $50 cry-baby.

Hey Julia,
Ya, what Ellen says makes sense. I just didn’t want Lugo to play the Zazu game and perform way below his capabilities to break his contract.
Last season marked the disintegration of the team. From flu to injuries to Manny that was a miserable season.
This season is the season of slumps. Everybody is struggling to get off the ground including Dice-K. The Dice-K comments could be seen (if I were an optimist) as disingenuous just to save face to his Japan audience. Of course he could indeed mean what he says and that’s disheartening.
I’m glad Lugo is gone. I never liked him, I never liked his excuses and the fact that he didn’t complain in the end was just smart strategy on his part — shut up and walk away a millionaire. Whine and you dig your own grave. Clay has learned that as well really quick. Sox are holding him on a short leash after his comments about the organization.
I don’t know what will hold the rest of the year. Tito is right about winning (it smooths the curves) but right now I see a team ready to come unglued. Call it instinct or intuition but this feels like a team ready to come apart. We’ll see.
Dave…

Julia,
I read the entire article and Dice-K argued that the training techniques in Japan are the reason why he pitched so well and that the training techniques in America are so different that they debilitate him rather than help him. I don’t know. Without a comparative analysis of the techniques and schedules it’s very difficult to decide if he’s right or not. Dice-K did not elaborate on the details. What does he mean?
In reading the entire article I don’t see him as whining but frustrated about the transition. He’s a competitor and I believe what he says.
.
Here is his exact quote:
?Until now, many Japanese players have joined the majors, but they usually only lasted for two or three years. I realized from my own experience that this was not due to their individual abilities but because of the difference in training methods,? Matsuzaka told Yoshii according to Speier. ?If someone doesn?t act, the way people think in the Majors would never be changed. I want them to understand this, not only for my sake, but for the sake of future Japanese players in the Major Leagues.”
.
So the question is, are the techniques of Japan far superior to America. Certainly American pitchers can have a high rate of injuries and repeat injuries but that’s in part due to the long season and the pressure to always compete.
The scientist in me is hungry to study this further, but the realist in me knows my limited free time.
.

As a foot note, Dice-K said this:
.
“They come armed with data and logic,” he added. “To counter that, I have to respond with my own logic and that takes a lot of thinking and energy, but I can?t back down on this one.?
.
OK, Dice-K you’re not a scientist nor do you have authority in critical thinking and data collection. That’s not a very strong argument.

.
Dave…

Dave – I’m not so sure I see the team as coming undone. I think the trade deadline passing will help sooth nerves and I think if they start winning it will also help. All teams hit bumps in the road.

This is an audio broadcast of John Farrell’s response to Dice-K comments:

http://audio.weei.com/m/25512155/john-farrell-red-sox-pitching-coach.htm

Julia,
Agreed on the trade deadline.
.
I might also add, Dice-K did his spring training in Japan and during the World Baseball Classic and came back destroyed. Not good evidence.

Dave – I listened to the audio tape of Farrell’s remarks about Dice-K. It is interesting.

Hey, all! I’m back from my trip to DC. Great trip–I caught up with some childhood friends, some of whom I’d not seen (but had heard from) in about 20 years. It was really good to see them again! The town I grew up in, Reston, VA, is now more like a satellite city than the sleepy eyeblink of a town I knew. Our section of town is now a “Historic District”! (Makes you feel old!)
Congratulations to Jim Rice on his HOF induction over the weekend! Long overdue. It was great to see him bask in the recognition he deserved.
Holly, I see that LaRoche has indeed gotten off to a great start with us. Hats off to you, and to him. I simply hope it is not a sprint start, and that he keeps up the production! Keep proving me wrong, Adam! GO SOX!
Great job by Beckett last night! I hope the offense we showed last night is not a one-day special, but that it gets us going for a better second half! We sure need it right now! GO SOX!

I see we’re having posting problems again! Some things never change! We’ll see if this posts 100 times–here goes!
I see that the Dice-K issue is coming to a boiling point. I could see that coming from a mile away–and it looks like it may not end well. I haven’t read or heard Dice-K’s comments, but it sounds like they are confirming what I’ve though (and said here) all along: Something(s) don’t translate well between our game and the Japanese game. Dice-K may make some valid points of comparison. It seems to me, though, that Dave is right that the WBC, and his separate training regimen in Japan, didn’t help his case–he still ended up on the DL. He needs to come to grips with the fact that he is not in Japan. Otherwise, he may be wise to return to Japan, because he will not help himself, or us, here. Pick your poison, Dice-K!

I also think Kotsay was the wrong one to be released!

Hi all! I took a couple days off from the blog to give the Sox a chance to win. Go Sox!!!!

Greg,
Well said re: Dice-K. I would add that he should be speaking privately with the team to work out any differences they have.

Craig,
New posture for the next several games. Get a Laz-e-Boy recliner and sit down normally, put your feet up and crack open a beverage of your choice.

Ellen, how did that cake turn out?

I just finished reading the entire article regarding Matsuzaka. What a yacht (not boat) load CRAP!!!
Tell you what DiceK old boy.. why not head on back to the land of the rising sun and see if you can make as much money there as you are here. The RedSox management are your bosses. You sign on with a “company” and they pay you handsomely (VERY) you do what they say or you go elsewhere, only we’ll have to eat your salary… You know its too bad that the real world (where all of us reside) doesnt work that way.. You dont like your job, you slack off and your boss trades you.. You get to keep your rate of pay… Must be nice…
This is a classic case of sour Saki… He hurt himself in the WBC (for honor of japan) and now where he is PAID to perform he cant and blames it on the RedSox training regimen… What is the Japanese phrase for kiss my a….??

Arnie.. I already have that yoga position covered… I am quite adept at it too!!!! I practice it nightly.
The cake turned out AWE-SOOOME!! It’s expensive but worth it.. plus now I have all the ingredients for another one (minus some Ghiardelli’s) which I found right up the street at Publix!! thaks for the recipe.. David loves it… I had him take about 1/3 of it to his office so I didnt gain 40 lbs!!!

I guess that Hideki Okajima and Takashi Saito arent relevant to Dr. Dice-K’s research…

And on the trade front:

http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/

1. Kotsay to the White Sox for outfielder Brian Anderson – not sure if he is going to PawSox or to Fenway

2. Gordon Edes of Yahoo! Sports this afternoon reported that the Red Sox offered at least three players — pitchers Clay Buchholz and Michael Bowden and outfielder Ryan Westmoreland — to the Blue Jays for Halladay, according to an unnamed source.

Welcome back Greg & Arnie!!!

Lineup for tonight:

Ellsbury,
Pedroia,
Youkilis,
Ortiz,
Bay,
Drew,
Lowell,
Kottaras,
Green.

Buchholz.

I am NOT happy that Tek is not catching for Buchholz!!!

Julia
The Sox need to include Lowrie in that offer for Halladay and ask for Scutaro to be thrown in.

gs – the local media is reporting that the trade rumor for Halladay is not true. So who knows???

The ceremony for Jim Rice will be starting soon at Fenway – it will be on NESN.

Next rumor of the day:

According to WEEI, the Red Sox are close to a trade that would send Cliff Lee to Boston for a package of Michael Bowden, Josh Reddick, and one more prospect.

And maybe they will throw in some clam chowder and baked beans.

And I already can’t post here! UGH!!!

It is a crazy time of year. I’m worried about how these rumors are effecting Buchholz – I hope he settles in tonight.

They all like waiting until the last minute to make the trades – it has to be tough on the players not knowing.

Julia-funny, cause here it’s being reported by Sportsnet, which is owned by Rodgers who also own The Jays. Still, doesn’t mean it’s true. Fun time of the year.

La have reportedly offered Howie Kendrick as part of a trade on Lee. I guess we’ll know on August 1.

From Ian on Twitter – the Cliff Lee report out of WEEI is false – some one hacked the reports account.

I’m sitting here dreading the fact that Eck is going to be in the booth again.
COME BACK JERRY REMY!!!!! I MISSSSSS YOU!
is there any word on how his recovery is coming along in the local news up there Julia??

And the ceremony for Jim Rice begins!!! YAY!!!

No Ellen – nothing about Jerry. It is surprising how little news there is.

And I am STILL having trouble posting tonight!! UGH!!!

s very moving.. but I tell you that fisk and Evans are still HOT!!!

Great video on about Jim Rice!!!! I love seeing all the old players!!!!!

And the ceremony for Jim Rice begins!!! YAY!!!

Great – the posting tonight is the worse trouble I have had in ages! I’ll be back a little later – maybe it will work better!!!

Great video on about Jim Rice!!!! I love seeing all the old players!!!!!

Yes they are Ellen!!!!

You know – Jerry Remy must not be well or he would have been there tonight! It was nice of Jim Rice to mention him.

VERY VERY VERY AWESOME SPEECH!!!! 1ST CLASS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU JIM RICE!!!

Is it just me or does Buchholz look older tonight??

his face has filled out.. I think he finally went through Puberty!!!!! lol

Either he finally went through puberty or he found the beauty of donuts and taco bell!!!!

Garry – the Red Sox & MLB are denying the Yahoo report. Who knows!

Ellen – I think you are right about Clay going through puberty! lol!

Ahhh… they are talking about the little boy that Rice took out of the stands after he got hit by the ball.

Why didn’t Kottaras tag out the guy at home???

Apparently the Sox have taken the plunge into the Halladay sweepstakes. They have reportedly offered Clay Buchholz, and either Masterson, Bowden, or Lars Anderson along with a third prospect. The Bozo from Yahoo sports who did the color for the past few games is the guy who broke the story. You can see it at Yahoo Sports.

Buchholz does not look good.

Hey, all! Posting problems, eh? So what’s new? :/ Maybe we’ll be see this post, or not…
GO SOX!

Hey, all! Posting problems, eh? Let’s see if this posts 10 times! GO SOX!

Hi Greg! The ceremony for Jim was wonderful!

And the posting STINKS!!! tonight!!!

I’m not happy with Clay tonight.

Hi Greg! The ceremony for Jim was wonderful!

And the posting STINKS!!! tonight!!!

I’m not happy with Clay tonight.

Yeah Julia, I saw the denial.

Looks like Dice-K and the Sox are going to have a new world war. There seems to be some tension building there.

Sox are looking hapless at the plate again tonight. Buchholz once again is not looking too impressive. He had good numbers at Pawtucket, but he didn’t average 6 innings pitched down there either.

Hey, all! How are we doing? Posting problems still, I see! SIGH!
Good to hear from Jim right now! YAY JIM! GO SOX!

Anyone heard anything on Wakefield? Where did this mysterious back injury come from. He seemed in good form before the All Star game.

43 pitches already for Clay. Not good!

All I’ve heard Garry is that it was something that had bothered him some before the ASG but when throwing a side-session it got worse.

Rays beating Yankees 3-0! We need our bats to get hitting! And for Clay to settle DOWN!!!

You’re right Greg! I should have given them to you! LOL! I know – No more games for me!!

Hey, Julia, NO MORE TICKETS FOR YOU! 0-2 now! (See, I told you you should have given them to me!) ;) GO SOX!

HEY!! I’m older then you & Wake!!

Eck was just saying how SLOW this game it. It really is!!

You’re right Greg! I should have given them to you! LOL! I know – No more games for me!!

Good, at least the Yankees are losing! Let’s see if they can finish the Yankees off this time!

Yes it does Greg. It was great seeing some of Rice’s HOF speech on the Scoreboard at Fenway on Sunday.

YAY ELLSBURY!!!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! C’mon Clay, speed it up a little. I might not live long enough to watch this whole game. ZZZZZZZZ!!

Greg – I don’t think it is important enough with the season in full swing!

COME ON BASES LOADED!!! DO SOMETHING!!!!

Julia, Wake hadn’t pitched in a while. Rigamortis was probably setting in. That happens to us old guys if we stay inactive too long.

That 14 sure looks great up on the wall!

Julia, what do you think it will take Sir Fearless Leader to fix these stupid posting problems?

WHOOOOHOOOOO!!!

4-2!!!!

We will not lose on Jim Rice Night!!!!!!!!!!

WHOOOOHOOOOO!!!

4-2!!!!

We will not lose on Jim Rice Night!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD! BASES LOADED! Now, get some RUNS out of it!

That deserves a
WOOOOOOOOOOOO-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
GOREDSOX!!!! BELIEVE IT!!!

THAT’S MORE LIKE IT! Way to go! Get some MORE! GO SOX!

Good swing by Youk, but he got a break with some very bad pitch calling by the home plate umpire. This guy has no clue about the strike zone…… Eck is right, it’s going both ways.

3-2 now! Way to go, PAPI! GO SOX!

Nice job, J-Bay! Come on, JD! GO SOX!

Geez Eck, how do you really feel about this umpire? However, Eck is exactly right. This umpire has screwed a young pitcher who was pitching very well. Sox fan or not, that ain’t right

OK, Buch, you’ve got a lead! Now, HOLD IT! GO SOX!

The ump does stink Garry! He is effecting the game for both of us.

NICE K Clay!!

I could have told ya that, Julia! Hmmm!…

Clay is coming up on 70 pitches already.

Buch will be fortunate to make it through 5 IP tonight!

The posting of these comments is crazy Greg! But as long as we keep winning! ALL IS GOOD!!!!

Hey, Mike! How are you over there in Korea? When do you return stateside?

Clay does better when he pitches faster.

Buchholz has gotten away with a few hanging curve balls on the inside part of the plate tonight. I can’t believe it’s only the top of the 4th inning.

Well, we haven’t gave up 8 hits and not had that translate to 5 or 6 runs in a while. He’s keeping us in it!

Bucky might not be around long enough to get the win. I would grade this performance at C-.
