Red Sox split up for final time this spring

Friday is the last day this spring that the Red Sox will be divided between two games. They host the Tigers at home at 1:05 p.m. ET, and a second group plays the Rays in Port Charlotte, Fla., at 7:05 p.m.

It’s a busy two-day stretch for the Sox, who have three games in the next 24 hours.
“Our travel schedule here is not real conducive to sometimes getting our work done, and it’s not a complaint, just stating the facts,” manager Terry Francona said Friday morning. “We spend a lot of time on buses because of where we’re located. So we try to do our fundamentals periodically, when we have like a couple home games, we’ll spend a little bit of extra time doing stuff like that.”
After Boston plays the Phillies in Clearwater, Fla., on Monday, Francona said more cuts are likely.
Friday’s lineups were split relatively evenly:
Afternoon lineup
Scutaro SS
Pedroia 2B
Gonzalez 1B
Youkilis 3B
Ortiz DH
Varitek C
Cameron RF
Kalish CF
McDonald LF
Buchholz SP
Night lineup

Ellsbury CF
Crawford LF
Drew RF
Lowrie SS
Nava DH
Navarro 3B
Spears 2B
Sutton 1B
Wagner C
Wakefield SP
— Evan Drellich

Beckett dropped to 4th in the rotation?? WOW.. didn’t see that one coming!

Glad to have the escape of the Red Sox. With the crisis in Libia and the greatest nuclear disasters in history in Japan there is not a lot to smile about these days.
On the good front, Lackey and Dice-K are forming a talent pool that I never saw happening.
On the bad front, Josh Beckett is walking on borrowed time and Papelbon is not too far behind; however, the season has not even started yet so anything can happen. Hope all of you had a great weekend.

Sorry that things aren’t going well for you Dave. Although things “out in the world” appear grim, I thank God for my husband and my new found job. Everything is going good for me at this point.
Only 1 thing that is lacking… “What?” you ask..
Bring it on, I’m way past ready!!!
“Put me in, Coach, I’m ready to play….. TODAY!!!!”

What is with this new format???!!
Anyway, GO SOX!

Hey everyone,
Oh man experiencing some serious lower back pain these days. Going into P.T. Getting older🙂
Sox are reuniting with last year’s headaches such as terrible starting pitching and a catcher that can’t throw properly. Good to see the good old days still with us…NOT!

Well, the Red Sox are getting hated by the Orioles manager. Are we the new, New York Yankees. Of course the problem is, I can see his point. Theo is hardly a great GM but still, we fans can say it, but we expect managers to act more professionally.

Go Sox!

Great to hear!
