MLB 2008
First of all, I did a terrible job last year urging you all to make predictions and promising that I would compile the results and announce who was most accurate. I still have not gained enough hours in the day to go through last year's list.
But I will start anew with my own predictions for 2008:
AL East: Red Sox
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Mariners
Wild Card: Blue Jays
NL East: Mets
NL Central: Cubs
NL West: Dodgers
NL Wild Card: Padres
American League champ: Red Sox
National League champ: Mets
World Series champ: Red Sox
AL MVP: Manny Ramirez
AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander
AL Rookie of Year: Evan Longoria
AL Comeback player: Keith Foulke
AL Manager of Year: John Gibbons
NL MVP: Ryan Howard
NL Cy Young: Johan Santana
NL Rookie of Year: Cameron Maybin
NL Comeback player: Andruw Jones
NL Manager of Year: Joe Torre
What are your thoughts? Not that I will ever have time to tabulate the results. See, at least I'm honest this year!!

Red Sox will win the division. Blue Jays get second place, sorry Yankee fans.
Tribe will win the Central and the A.L. but the Tigers make it in as a wild card. Mariners win the west.
Tribe wins the A.L.
Mets will win the East, Cubs in the central and the D'Backs win the west. Padres are the wild card.
Mets and Tribe in the fall classic, Cleveland finally gets a
winner!!!

When April fools rolls around, I can't help but think of the Sports Illustrated cover story of Sidd Finch. That was one of the greatest hoax stories of all time. S.I. fooled some people on that one. The guy had a fastball of 165 m.p.h. Safe to say most knew it was a hoax right there but I remember some people saying it was true, boy did they get fooled. That was a great memory.

Actually NL ROY I'm going to put as Fukodome. I'm expecting him to hit .320 with at least 100 RBI's. That plus the fact that Japanese players have a pretty strong recent history of getting ROY honors.

Fukudome is going to win the ROY in my mind also.
Sorry Ian, I think that Beckett is going to win the Cy Young in my mind. It is going to be a tight race, and Verlander finishes a not so distant 2nd in the race.
Verlander wins it in 2009.
If anyone goes to bostonredsox.com you will see it is much different. Most of you know that, but I came back yesterday!
